Red face Curious about Neo. falcata

Hello
I'm curious about the culture of the samurai orchid. I've heard a lot of compliments and seen a lot of pics about these guys and now I want to get one . So I'm just curious exacty how "smelly" they are. Can I still detect the smell even when I'm not sniffing closely at the flower? Can they fill a small room with fragrance?

I want to grow them along with my Phals, is it possible? I have a window that has bright direct sunlight in the morning up until noon. My Phal would be able to grow there happily and I don't know why. (Isn't phals supposed to live in low light??) Therefore, can Neo thrive in that amount of sunlight of my window?

I'm living in Texas that has over 12 hours of sunlight this time of year, so I guess I'm adding the plant to my wish list now, yeyeye!!! Thanks so much, you've been so helpful!

If you can grow phals, you can grow Neos although they can take more light. They will fill a room with the scent of vanilla/coconut/pina colada. The japanese put these in the entry way of their homes as a pleasant scent for people entering their homes. They are hardy and easy to grow.

These are my favorite orchids by far. If I was restricted to only 1 species of orchid, this would be the one.

I finally decided to buy the Neo from Oak Hill Garden, Its been a month having it. For a period after transplanting into S/H, it stop growing new roots. I thought the guy is gonna sulk for a long time. However, just starting this week, I see the root tips are getting longer and actively growing. Looks like they're trying to establish themself in the S/H pot. A very forgiving plant!

I'd like to know the type of Neo that I have thought lol. I'm sure it's gonna be white. The leaves are pointy and slightly curve upward at the tip, short, a little cupped, not flat and long like the regular Amami Island form, and a little bit more compact (4-5 inches leaf span), looking a lot like this http://www.newworldorchids.com/images/seiryujishi.jpg. So is it a "needle leaf", or a "dagger leaf", lol...I just like to know the variety that I have. Just curious
