I saw that little bit of green peeking out but only in the photo when I was able to really zoom in closely. . .it's too small to tell just by looking at the plant, so no official news to report yet BUT. . .

I'll be watching it & trying to remain cool-as-a-cucumber. . .but wouldn't that be amazing if for it's first bloom for me, it did a double whammy?

Me too, but I don't want to jinx it. . .that larger claw just beginning to come up, has been sooooooooo sloooooooow. It started emerging a few months ago but stalled totally out. I figured it was a goner. But now it's on the move again. Maybe it stalled out while the other spike was initiating?

Do you think the jiku is technically called v-shaped? It's kind of more cupped than say the really flat v-shape of a standard furan. . .not sure what my category choices are. lol

Suikaden has a Tsukigata tsuke (cresecent moon shape) so yep, it's cupped instead of straight. I don't remember if you have Sekai, but it has a Namigata tsuke (ocean wave shape). I can post a pic of my Sekai later so you can see.

Yamagata (mountain shape)
Ichimonji (straight line)

By the way, Gwen, there's also Japanese names for the different roots colors, leaf shape and types of variegation. I figured this might get you even more excited
