Neofinetia Joyang
The rose pink solid colored Neofinetia hybrid Joyang is not as widely held as the often compared to purple solid colored Neofinetia generally presumed hybrid Raikoumaru. Since I only received it last September, I don't take credit for initiating flowering although no evidence was shown at receipt, but I take credit for proper care after an agonizing, prolonged bare root overseas travel and potting in a totally different manner.
About the white bud, all start out that way, not a problem. Was itching to release this post and it might be of interest to some to see how the buds begin.
Is any information about the ancestry available?

The poor response to this post, only 2 likes out of nearly 800 views, has discouraged me from posting any of my plants further on the OB.

Don't put so much into what other people like about what you are doing. You do these things bec you love them not bec everyone approves. You should share with others willingly without regards or concern of expectations. If what drives you are the expectations of approval from others then your life is already full of disappointment and you dont even know it yet. Good luck to you and sorry for your feeling left out, again.

RJSquirrel,
Very perspective thoughts. You are considerably younger than me but clearly much wiser.

I wonder if Kristen from New World Orchids could give you some information about the ancestry or perhaps someone from Orchid Web.
Beautiful plant, btw. Are the flowers fragrant? I've recently started collecting Neofinetias.

Avian,
I am pretty sure that Kristen follows the OB Neo posts, as would others in the trade.
Flowers barely fragrant.

I am someone who tries to check the OB each day, but there are times when I miss a day here or there. I typically just look at "Today's Posts," since I don't really have the time to open each and every sub-forum. I cannot speak for Kristin, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who sometimes misses a post. If you reached out to her personally, I'm betting you would get a reply.
The other thing is I think we all have to realize that discussion forums like OB are, sadly, going by the wayside as people seem to prefer FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc. (Definitely not me.) Stick around, Shoreguy. We all have to try to keep these wonderful old-fashioned forums alive. RJSquirrel's advice is indeed wise.

just take it easy..love what you do for no other reason than you love to do it..
love how the flowers make you relax and take you somewhere else where no one else can go. its your world, you can make it what you want. Think like Bob Ross
and in case I failed that's a really nice bunch of flowers and well grown plant too. you should be proud!!

Concerning no answers on ancestry, everyone who follows the neof section on the OB knows of the one individual here who has basically all the necessary connections to obtain the answer and is eager to help out. Since he has not responded, it is reasonable to assume the answer is lost forever. No need to even mention his name.
