I would use considerably less sphag so you could see emerging new root activity.
Receptacle perfect. At this point plant does not need to be vertical. Horizontal is fine. Just some sphag at base so you can see what’s going on. Tip slightly receptacle after spaying to drain or at least get any puddle away from plant.
Advise for future, surgery best done if possible manually by snapping, if not by sterile one sided razor blades, but be super careful,
