The above is the development of a single flower.

I have found that Neofinetia Shunkyuden produces the most complex flowers when there is only one on a spike which makes sense since more resources can be expended on a single flower than if shared among several. Eventually what happens is the older portions start to fade resulting in a very messy presentation.

I like the touches of purple which adds to the appeal.

Maybe a little more but the fading of older portions would start to come into play. Do to the way the photo system works, adding a new photo would appear on the top. The thumbnails show the order that I entered the photos.

So no more photos in this posting but I could show one more in an additional posting to this thread if warranted. I was really getting antsy to form this thread. I have been thinking about doing this for a long time, months before the plant spiked and then was elated that it only formed a single bloom.
