Wild collected neo's?
Default

Thank you all for the neo info. I guess I'll keep doing what I'm doing with them. I don't grow the Amani form, but the plants I do have have repeatedly hit 35 °F without apparent damage. I don't water orchids often in the winter though I suspect I've watered the neos at lower temperatures than I should, but they grow among plants less tolerant of drying.

And Connie, I live in Southwestern Wisconsin near the town of Lone Rock. For decades we held the record for the lowest temperature in the lower 48 states, -53°F. I believe that the record lies elsewhere these days. I've lived in the area for 25 years and the lowest I've experienced was -48°F. We reached -40°F/C last year but this year has been a mild winter. You need heavy snow on the ground to get really cold and our winters have been pretty open for the last 10 years. This doesn't make me sad 😁
