Default Aerangis fastuosa, first bloom!

I got this plant a couple years ago, and for the past 10 months or so, it's been sloooooooooowly developing this bud. It finally opened this week! So pretty!

It has a beautiful strong fragrance, too. Heavier and less floral than mystacidii and punctata. Sort of musky, in a good way. I was home for lunch at noon today, and it was even fragrant then, though not as strongly as in the evening.

Stunning. The first picture is gorgeous, not implying the others are not. Great job!

It really took forever for the bud to develop. Be patient!

This flower is about an inch across, and the spur is three inches. The whole leafspan on my plant is only 3.5 inches.

Thanks everyone! I really, really like the angraecoids. I'm going to the Portland (Oregon) orchid show next month, and I'm very excited that Botanica Ltd is going to be there.

Never mind that I am also picking up an order from Ecuagenera... I can always find room more miniature orchids!

Wonderful bloom. And good that you had the patience to wait on it.

Sorry, I missed your question!

This is in an east window, but with the back of the cork mount facing the window so it doesn't get any full direct sun. It has a little pad of sphagnum on the cork with it, covering the roots. I have it in a small aquarium with an Angraecum didieri and an Amesiella monticola, with hydroton and sphagnum in the bottom and a partial cover to keep the humidity up. It gets watered about once a week, but I don't let it dry out to the point where the sphagnum on the mount goes crispy.
