Sorry for the late reply, but the parents are 'Mount Zion' FCC/AOS x 'Star of Malagasy' FCC/AOS. Surprisingly, the petals did not reflex backwards on this plant and it maintained amazing structure until the flowers dropped!

Sesquipedale is supposed to bloom in December. About 9 years ago I got two small seedlings of different varieties. They have finally reached blooming size, and both are budding now (= blooms in April).

I love these. I cannot have such a large plant though. Is there perhaps a smaller version that is still fairly easy to grow?

There is a variety that is smaller, Angraecum. sesquipedale var. bosseri. Some of the bosseri are said to bloom twice a year, November and April. (?) No idea of the truth behind it, though.
I have gotten rid of nearly all my large orchids but I think the sesquipedale is worth the space. I have no idea if mine is the smaller or larger type but it is going to stay in the collection, mainly because it was a rescue and I have now gotten into the habit of pampering it. :|
If you do not have the space for the sesquipedale, there are Angraecums for every size and environment.

Sesquipedale is a very slow growing plant and mine has only put out around three leaves this year. It has barely increased in size. You can definitely check out bosseri as it is known for its compactness. Some people consider it as a different species but it is almost identical to sesquipedale besides its size
