Now that looks like a growth or spike. I haven't seen either in my plant so I can't tell the difference yet, will have to take Ross' word for it. How are you growing this one Dave?
I had it outside facing south no direct sunlight, water daily, fert. twice a month. But was toying with the idea of putting it in the terrarium. where the humidity is high all the time.
If it is a spike, it can take months to form! I have a couple of plants and they don't seem to always bloom for me. I also thought i had spikes last year, but they turned into growths. Not sure if this plant needs special conditions to bloom i.e. cool dry rest, warm, etc.
Peter.
I have an Amesiella (Angraecum) monticola, not sure what the difference is between the two, but I am sad to hear yours is not a new growth as I thought mine was in spike and seems to be taking for ever to form. Now that I have heard all of the replies, I am starting to think it may be a new growth
