Aerangis modesta - Finally in Bloom
I have always considered Paphiopedilum malipoense the most frustrating bloomer, since buds take upwards of 8 months to bloom. Now I have found it's match, and then some.
I have had an Aerangis modesta for about 9 years. For the first 7 years or so, it just maintained size (seedling size). Over the last two years it started to grow up. In October I noticed a bud breaking, which gave me some hope that it might be ready to show at the NJOS (January) or DCOS (February) shows.
Here we are, end of April, 7 months later. The spike is now 8-10" long, but it has not started to form the actual buds yet.
