Default Microcoelia exilis flower closeup

Hello All,

This is a species I obtained several years ago from a private collector, until this last blooming I had never seen a closeup photo of the blooms. I was able to access a stereoscope at a local laboratory and take a few photos of the last blooming cycle, the images shown are taken at 35x magnification with overhead lighting.

A pollination attempt was made but the pods failed shortly after, hopefully next year will yield better results.

Superb little one! Can really see how spongy and crystalline it is. So much we would miss without some sort of magnification.

Sparkly little devil. ]

Wonder if Jay's Orchid Encyclopedia would like to add your flower close-up to his exilis entry?
