yea the cold got me. I have a small greenhouse thats really hard for me to keep consistent right now and then too it was... I just dont have the monetary resources yet to do this right and the side effect is blasted buds...moved the greenhouse 3 times since I put it up too..that hasnt helped. The plants like consistency. Even if the temps arent perfect as to the best growing parameters, I am still of the thoughts that they can adapt also. Thats what they have done for millions of years is apapt. Oh ya I dont have a million years to make them work......

I get frustrated too easy bec I work so hard at this for almost nothing...

WELL I do have all of you at OB

you know I havent gotten the total blooming thing down yet but I felt learning to grow a nice looking plant first then the blooms will come later... Im ready for the blooms too fellas. I have to keep the cold off them when it hits me again but Ill be ready next week when the blast comes in. Might even just take them in at night. I havent decided yet. They make nice looking house plants if nothin else!!

I recently bought a small angraecum sesquipedale. It has 6 leaves and one new leaf growing. Leaf span is about 7 or 8 inches. Any guesses as to how many years it is from blooming?

I am in the same boat as you. My first Angraecum. My plant is good sized but I don't know when it will bloom either. I see I evidence of a previous spike. Hopefully some time this winter a bloom will show up.

My wife just pointed out to me that my sesquipedale has a spike forming. I could not see it for the ties I was using to support the plant. I only got it a couple three weeks ago shipped in from Lehua Orchids in Hawaii and it was not showing any spoke. Guess it likes my sun room as it definitely has a spike. 😀😀😀😀

My Angraecums love sun and water! I read somewhere that they don't like being repotted but I've never had a problem with that. I've repotted all of mine without issues. (I did wait a week or so before watering though) I also juiced them up on Kelp when I did start watering. I don't know if that made a difference, but they're healthy and spiking!

That's good to know about your repotting success. My single plant is in a 4 inch pot and pretty good sized compared to the pot. I think this will be the first time it has bloomed as I see no evidence of previous spikes but I can't imagine it shouldn't go into a 6 inch pot after blooming.
