I've ordered in from Central/S Amer and Taiwan w/little trouble...but this will be my first out of Africa/Madagascar. Fingers crossed.
Looking forward to hearing how these do!

I am seriously considering the Malala import, after refraining for the last 3 years - I received Brenda's e-mail, and I wonder whether the fall import would have more success given that the plants are just entering their growth phase, which might give them a bit more oomph to adjust to our conditions.

I've had horrible rates in the past...from 2 imports, I have around 50% that survive the initial, and through circumstance, poor culture etc..., I am now down to a single plant!

Are you thinking of going with the fall order from Botanica, or doing your own order? they have so many good things on that list....
I would be ordering through Botanica. Like Katrina I have gotten plants from Taiwan and Central,South America and have had good results from those purchases.

My problem is we are going into winter and if this winter is as bad as last winter, I'm afraid they wouldn't be happy. I have so many ugly gray days and some days where the heater runs all day and night and the humidity is higher in my house than the g/h.

I will probably let Botanica bring them in, get them established and then buy from them

It is nice to have you back on the forums.

Brooke

Wow, what a description of the smell, makes me want to get one just so I can smell one. Gorgeous pics by the way.

Getting more rewarding as this plant ages, this plant is generous with flowers. I would have had more, but part of the spike rotted downstream
