Default Mystacidium braybonae

This orchid specie is endemic to the northern part of South Africa where it is found at elevations from 2650 to 5000 feet. It grows in deciduous forests where it receives ample rain and high humidity in the growing season and a drier cooler winter. This orchid plant brings forth sparkling white cluster of flowers, about 1/2" wide; with strong musky fragrance usually after dark.
I grow this species in intermediate to cool conditions but it can tolerate warmer conditions outside the fire escape. I give this k-lite fertilizer with seaweed mix and hold feeding in winter. I also water it drier in the winter months because I believe it may be deciduous. The roots of this species like to dry quickly and are quite long, so when I received it mounted from Marni Turkel =I didn’t bother to repot. This orchid plant is a robust grower and a very rewarding species from the Angraecum alliance.

Gorgeous, Bud! I love plants from Marni, they're always so well grown. She will be speaking to my orchid society in September, I can't wait!

Thank You, nikkik!!!!

Marni deals mostly with species, I rarely see her sell hybrids. When she comes in September grab whatever plant she's selling=they are rare.
