New spike on a Vanda
A few months ago, a friend gave me this Vanda because she was unable to grow it in the right conditions. It suffered from crown rot so I don't think it will sprout new leafs, will it? Yesterday as I was watering most of my collection I noticed this. I think I have a spike growing on this Vanda. I'm very happy and I hope it will bloom. I've never seen it in bloom so I don't know what color it is. I hope it's a color I don't have, but if I do have it, that's OK also.

Lucky, lucky you! I'm so jealous. I check between the leaves of my vandas every day.

Awesome! I'm a "check-between-the-leaves-girl" too! Although it makes the time from the initial discovery of a spike to an open flower excruciatingly loooong!! Lol!
And I have a vanda that had crown rot. It doesn't grow more leaves, but it does throw out keikis.

I thought this was a spike, but now i'm not so sure. What do you think, spike or keiki?

I guess I should have mentioned that it is growing lower on the stem than the last spike it had, so after all a keiki I'd say.
