You really should get Neptune's Harvest. Smells a bit, but the plants just love it. I use 1/4 capful (about 2-3 ml) in 2 litres of water. I had stagnating sheaths on two cattleyas for 2 months until I started using NH. Then within two weeks the buds started growing and bloomed shortly thereafter.

Wouldn't want to use it every day, but once a week it's tolerable. And you don't want to leave any 'for next time', it will smell much worse even a day later. I rinse out my pump-up sprayer every time I use it.

I might need to look for neptune's harvest. I will go ahead and buy that bulbo I like, too. When my hubby complains about the smell, I can just blame the bulbo....
I really like what I have read about seaweed.

Your hubby did a really lovely job.

Default Angcm. didieri leaf length

I am very curious as to how long the leaves are on your Angcm. didieri. Probably not much more than 3 - 4 inches; shouldn't be at any rate. Plant looks really strong.

Forgot to mention - any liquid fish/seaweed product should be kept in the fridge.

They're about 3 inches. None grew to 4. It has 3 fans. The third fan only has 3 leaves so far.

It's interesting that Jay's internet site indicates that Didieri is a summer bloomer. The Baker culture sheet indicates it can bloom during an 8 month range. I haven't seen any research on what triggers blooms in Didieri. ALToronto has had success getting more than one bloom per year. You can read about his approach earlier in his thread.

On the Ghost , I think I read they have a rest period. Mine get 60F at night and that might be ok if they weren't seedlings. Some of the smaller ones have died already. The larger ones still look ok. What temp is too cold for yours? Was it a gradual drop in temp?

My Aergs mystacidii took a rest after it bloomed. Now it is putting out a new leaf and root. I think luteo-alba did the same thing and now has a spike. The spikes and buds develop very slowly. Didieri is my first Angraecum.

Good luck with ones you have.

It isn't uncommon for angraecum buds to just sit there and do nothing for a few months. The didieri tend to rest during the cooler months and bloom and grow during the warmer months in Madagascar.
