Nice job!
When I first got this and was reading up on it's care, I did see a lot recommending growing potted or in a basket due to it's love of moisture. But I also read in this and other orchid forums that many people had trouble with rot... so, I don't know which way would ne preferable for most... this one has a fair amount of sphag on th mount, and even in summer was still lightly moist a day after watering. As roots extend beyond the moss, I will likely need to spritz those more often. Remains to be seen how this will do long-term for me, but it's done well the 8 months I've had it.

Sorry you lost your spike but glad yours is doing better now!

Whatever culture you are doing is working for you. Trust your instincts, I have read your posts and you have a sound judgement in orchid care.
I also beleive that it due to its fine roots, it will tend to rot if potted; unless it is a well draingng mix....

* It does have a citrusy kind of scent kinda like lemon....maybe if you put the flower near your nose at night you will get a whiff (thats why its called citrata)

aw thanks

Yes, I remembered I had read that this was fragrant, and it made sense it would likely be fragrant at night - it's in my kitchen, which, even with the lights off there, gets some light from another area at night - not sure if that's why I still haven't detected a fragrance, and if I need to check later, after it's been in darkness for a while ... I would love to get a whiff!

Thank you!

It did bloom again for me a few months ago ... only one spike, but quite an impressive one! (31 blooms, I think)
