Thanks, Garden. I think it is special and wish I could get more of them, but am hoping (as I think you know) to get a sib-cross when it blooms again.

Very good thanks Ron. Longer commute than the old one but I enjoy the work more so it's worth it. Not much time for OB though at the moment as a result, that's the only downside

Nice to hear that the new job is going well but we miss our Super Moderator.

Simply amazing! Orchids never cease to amaze me - Any idea where I can get ahold of one of these beauties?!

Hi,
These are really rare. Botanica Ltd. had them several years ago but they were the only ones I know of who ever carried it. I tried to get a pod on mine last winter, but it didn't take. I am going to try again this winter, but obviously that'll be a while. Let me know if you do find a source, since I wouldn't mind having another.

After almost a month of hunting I've had absolutely no luck obtaining this species. However, it just so happens this plant has a feature article in this months AOS issue of Orchids - it states there are only a handful of plants in cultivation and those have all been legally imported from the wild (where it is rather sparse as well). Someone is currently working on breeding them and claims to have some plants in flask - so hopefully we'll all see them become available within the next couple of years.

I haven't actually seen the article but she used a picture or pictures of mine to illustrate it. I, too, tried to find another plant but unsuccessfully. Also tried to set a pod last time it bloomed but unsuccessfully.

This guy is at the top of my list to obtain ... I absolutely have to have it! The article is an amazing read with stunning photos - made me want it even more. Congrats on having your photos displayed in it!
