Angcm. leonis - spike or root? Female
Default Angcm. leonis - spike or root?

I got excited when I thought this little guy was spiking. Now I kind of think it looks like a new root. I'll take either one, but a spike would be totally rad. What do you think?

Bethmarie, stay excited! Congrats, as that IS a spike. They do develope SLOWLY and you will probably see blooms sometime in November or December. At this point don't allow the media to get dry or else the spike/buds will end up blasting. GL and please be sure to post a pic when your plant blooms!

woo hoo! I'm glad you got a spike confirmation - I'm not familiar with this species, but do think it looks like a spike

Thanks Judi and Sonya! I am excited. I get so much out of watching orchids develop. And it's even more fun to share that will other people who get it.

I do feel like a parent, which is pretty goofy, but there it is. I'm so excited to see it grow and bloom. I've only seen leonis in bloom in pics, not in person. A really fun first if this one makes it all the way.
