Default Aerangis distincta

Here is my new Aerangis distincta fitting in between the Project #4 plant, Aerangis rhodosticta, on the left; and Dendrobium senile on the right.

I agree, Gwen. That one was irresistable... Ross even got one after seeing this one when it arrived back in July. I'm just patiently waiting for the canes to start to mature so I can start watching for buds!!

And I love Harry! It's a fascinating plant to watch develope. There are three maturing canes on mine, two newly developing ones and lotsa roots. Mine's on a stick. Thanks for showing us your new guy - maybe I'll have one of those one day

Good luck with that Aerangis distincta, a real gem of the genus. In full bloom with many flowers they're a miniature show stopper. Mine bloom consistently in early spring after a slightly drier, cooler winter.

Thanks for the good wishes, Markr - I am really looking forward to seeing this one flower. Does your's have scent?

Sue & Tin, Thanks, yes... aren't the orange root really neat? The news roots seem to come out with orange growing tips. Did you see the photo of the Chiloschista that I posted? The growing tips of the new roots on that one are red. I just love it! I love them all....

Yes, it has a scent at night - quite nice.

Looks like we share similar orchid interests - I also grow some Chiloschistas, though not lunifera.

Cool! That was the same with my Aerangis mystacidii - it was also scented at night. In the mornings it filled the room with a nice sweet frangrance.

It was the OB project #4 that got me looking at Aerangis - and now I'm hooked.

So far, I've only seen Chiloschista lunifera for sale here. Which ones do you have?
