Default Jumellea sagittata need help with culture!

Just got this plant (seedling) as a "bonus orchid" and they might as well have sent me a rubic's cube

I have searched the web and looked in my Angraecoid Orchids
So far I know that it grows in "low" light (not specific though how many candles) on moss under trees in Madagascar.

How do I translate that to proper culture?

1000-2000 candles is what I am thinking.
Humidity I might guess 60% or more which is fine.
Media...?? Fine? Course? Sphag? Bark?
Pot...? Basket/hanging?
Watering...?? anyone know how often it rains in Madagascar?

It came in a 4 inch plastic square pot with a bark media similar in texture to that which I use for phrags/paphs.
I'd like to give it a good try!
Anyone with some info or experience please help

I could always put it where I left the rubic's cube...the nice men in a big truck come by each week and empty the container

Many of the Jumellea will grow in higher light than most Aerangis, but I think your range should be good. I would say high humidity and good water are a must. Grow it I/W with a slightly drier and cooler winter. That should be a good starting point and adjust your culture from there.

Or you could just send it to LA

Eyebabe - You are on the right track - I would say the higher end of Phal lighting conditions - medium bark mix with sponge rock and charcoal - is tolerant of cool temps if kept dry. Just a word of caution, sagittata gets to be a fairly large plant.

Thank you both very much!

I will keep it with the phals then and make sure the drainage is good. The medium sized bark mix has charcoal and perilite in it so should be appropriate then....it looks freshly potted so I will just pull it up and check the roots then put it back

I think if I place it back toward the window the transduction of cold this winter will bring the temp down so it gets a good 10+ degree diurnal range. I've read that this species "likes" that as well.

I just love that there is always something new to learn
