Angraecum Didieri, my first bloom :)
Hi OB, I bought this little guy a few months ago and I love it to bits When I got it, it had a little bud forming and, now it's fully open, I love it even more
The white of the flower is slightly sparkly and the scent is amazing at night and reminds me of Jasmine. I have it on my dressing table in me bedroom so I can smell it as I go to sleep!
One question though for anyone else who grows these, is there anything that triggers flowering (e.g. light, temp differences etc)? I'd like to know what I can do to encourage more flowers in the future

Hi Nenella For the first time last night, the flower didn't have a scent. Throughout today, it's browned and crumpled, so I think I can say it's on its last legs! Sooo, it's lasted nearly 4 weeks, that seems pretty good to me
(unless someone else posts that theirs lasts for 8 weeks!)

Sorry to hear that your blooms have faded. Four weeks is far too short for those who want to enjoy them indefinitely!

Two buds! I'm envious! I really am so in love with this little guy I've been researching other Angraecums to look for. Some, it seems, can get quite quite big, which is not what I want, the size of the didieri is perfect!

Beautiful didieri!! Didn't know that this was a fragrant one. I was going to get one when I ordered some orchids last week, but I was a bit late getting my order sent and they sold out...
As to others that you could grow, you should consider Aerangis fastuosa. It's a small plant that makes quite large blooms for its size. They smell like asian lilies. I have one, and love it!! I grow all my angraecoids mounted, they really love is that way as long as you keep them from drying out too much. My Aerangis citrata (small plant, but will make huge spikes when mature) wasn't doing well potted, and as soon as I stuck it on a mount the roots really took off. Aerangis fastuosa is a bit slowly to adjust.
