It could be because Stewart is right when shes describing ellisii saying that most cryptodons in the trade are actually something quite rare. The toothed mouth to the spur description checks out though so I'm not entirely sure She also says "Plant with a woody stem, often short or up to 8 cm long. Leaves 2-5 in 2 rows," (J. Stewart p 238) that is definitely not a fitting description of what I'm calling it. Where as Aergs ellisii "Plant with a robust, woody, erect or arching and ascending stem up to 30(-60) cm long, 9-12mm in diameter. Leaves 4 - 20 in 2 rows, widely spaced" (J. Stewart p 239) That seems to correlate much more closely.
Then again, the 'Flight of the Sandies' clone does appear similar. Between IOSPE and her, I'm very inclined to relabel my plant and the rest of that tangle.
