Would you believe I've never ordered an orchid online? I guess I worry that it will show up looking beat up.

Ouch that is a problem my friend. I guess when I want it bad enough I will order it. I guess I'm spoiled living down here with so many sellers. I'll keep looking. Tomorrow is Monday and it will be a great day, specially for calling on local vendors. Thanks for your help again

Ewcia, Thanks for trying to help me out with this clown
Its under 4-4foot tubes with my catts (which bloom) Good air circulation, humidity 65 to 75% tempts do vary abit, the summer time is late 70's - 80's - fall and on wards 68 to 72 degrees.
Since I've had it for a number of years, its seen different media, never mounted. I have nothing mounted. I don't do well with this method of growing, they dry & die
Right now its in bark mix - due to be repotted soon. I'll likely put it back in my sphag mix again - putting that off til sept.

Remember when I said its about 1 foot long? well its even worse, ITS 1 FOOT 7 INCHES, LOL!
I've also noticed another small bump higher up on it. I think its wants to bloom

Something I have also noticed, the water choice is now disstilled, not medium hard tap water anymore. I've been doing this for a couple of months now, Its seems to look better overall, Also since then the smallish white bumps appeared. I'm thinking maybe it doesn't like the hardish water, its thick and healthy though - funny thing!

I know yours is mount, what else can you tell me about the way you grow?

Gloria,it seems you are growing it very well, so I have no idea why it doesn't bloom for you? I have mine for 6 years and it is blooming for last three years.I got it mounted but it didn't grow good, so I changed it to tree fern basket with spagnum moss around it as a medium and maybe like you said it prefers very moist medium.I grow mine in the greenhouse hanging above my Cattleya's so it gets more light and I water it every other day during summer time because it gets very hot and dry in California during this time, and it dries out pretty quickly.I water with a tap water.Do you know how strong is your candle light under those tubes?
