Great bloom!!! I just got one and it needs a new pot. It has several long green roots. I was considering a piece of teak wood and moss around the base of plant and allowing the roots to hang free. I need temp and light info. I have 70% humidity carts. thanks Pam

Good for you. I have had two of them for the past 3 years. The foliage looks great. The root system is fine, but I just cannot get them to flower. Lucky you. Did you do anything special? What are your indoor growing conditions come winter? Thanks.

As far as light, it's about 5 inches from four T5 tubes, but under a mesh screen to help cut the harshest rays. I keep it at normal room temps. Summer, that means around low 80s under the lights, low 70s at night. Winter, it drops to low 60s at night, up to low 70s. My average humidity is around 60%.

Nothing special. It just decided to put out some blooms after two years of nothing. I may have increased the water, and that's about it. Winter conditions on my light shelves are the same humidity/light as summer, just an average of 10 degrees less.

Sorry, I just got the orchid, its not in flower. Looking for ideas to get it out of the pot it came in. Hopefully under the right conditions. Thanks for the info u guys!! Pam

Perhaps that was my problem. Mine was mounted and it eventually died. Its a real beauty, I wish I still had mine.
