Plant is growing warm in phal light because we are warm. However intermediate to the intermediate side of warm is better. Mounted on cork slab probably best, but keep up the humidity and water frequently if mounted. This is actually a spring bloom.

Funny. I don't know. I notice the fragrances that drift up to me, but I don't think to sample the bouquet when it's so nice to look at. With the red lip, it probably has a day pollinator and might not have a fragrance.

This species doesn't have fragrant flowers.

Yours has an unusal flower presentation--bunch up way too much than normal. Is it a first time bloomer?

Tom. You've got a good eye. This plant has VERY different flowers. This is not a first bloom. Only a few of a seedling batch turned out like this or similar. The flowers are extremely full and round and bigger than the norm and shorter stems. That is why they look a bit crowded. But believe me, other than that, the arrangement was great. Plants are likely tetraploid from the way look of the flower segments compared to normal flowers and the behavior in breeding.

I just discovered a spike on mine yesterday, very out of character!
