Default Angracoids and tree fern?

Does anyone definitively: Is is true that angraecoids (Aerangis, Angreacum, etc.) should not be mounted on tree fern plaques (stick with cork or branches)? I have heard yes and no. If so, does anyone know why?

I don't have a direct answer specifically for these genera, but please keep in mind nothing should be mounted on treefern that doesn't come from a sustainable source. Unsustainable harvesting of treefern plants threatens certain sensitive tropical ecosystems and many species of the treeferns themselves.

Options include: Sustainably-sourced treefern, coir fiber mats, and artificial fibrous mount material.

I think the reason people say to not mount Angraecoids on fibrous substrate is that Angraecoids are aggressive rooters and they will take over the mount. It may become difficult to safely remove them when you need to remount (if you do.) Personally, I feel that if you want to use fibrous substrates like Epi-web, go for it. It certainly won't harm the plant and they should take very well to the material.
