Sorry to hear that Becca Mine had pretty bad rot too, starting on leaves and progressing to the crown. Thiomyl is a systemic fungicide, which should work quite well (H2O2 didn't because I'm pretty sure it has no effect on fungus/bacteria growing within infected tissue). Phyton is a systemic and cured my plant

Good luck! This one is a beauty. The good thing is, I've found that at least grandiflora is a decently fast grower (unlike my angraecum magdelanae which is having some rot issues and grows SO SLOWLY) so you should be getting recovery quickly. I'll see if I can upload some before and after pics for you at some point tomorrow - don't give up hope!

Thanks Calvin, I don't know if my Thiomyl will arrive in time as things are rapidly declining with this 'chid....I am affraid two more days without treatment will be to long for it. I don't even know if the roots are viable for the systemic to work. I wish there was a place locally that carried this kind of stuff. Would a hydroponic store carry Thiomyl or Phyton? Will hydrogen peroxide harm roots?

I look forward to the pics!

Well I talked to the owner of the local hyrdoponics store. I was hoping I could get something a little sooner, but he did not have anything. I told him how I soaked the 'chid, roots and the part of the stem that had the rot on it. I told him I soaked it full strength bought from the store (3%) and he said if it wasn't dead before that it is now because hydrogen peroxide at that strength would kill any plant. He said it basically oxidizes it and I should see it turn a tan color. Ooops! Well I haven't given up yet, and I won't....lol. I'll see it through until I have no more leaves....lol.

Well here is another update. I can still see the rot ( a dark muddy green look) creeping up the stem after I soaked it in the Thiomyl for about 15 minutes on Wednesday. I cant' believe priority mail took 5 days! I am convinced if it would have arrived on Monday like it should have I could have saved the 'chid...so I'll blame it on the USPS...lol. I have taken the 'chid out of the orchidarium unless someone (Ross?) thinks I should give it another treatment again. Otherwise it's a gonner in book. Guess I'll go buy some neo's to make myself feel better...lol.
