Suggest me a fogger/mister/humidifier brand?
Default Suggest me a fogger/mister/humidifier brand?

I have chronic fatigue, and am trying to set up my terrariums so that they won't suffer if I ignore them for a bit during a fatigue bout. I've decided to get some sort of misting system to help keep the humidity up for my plants.

I have two terrariums, a 12" cube and a 12x8x8, and I'd like to humidify both at the same time. They're both small, so I don't see any reason I couldn't just use a forked hose and run them both on the same device. I'm looking for something that can lightly mist the terrarium when I want. Something that's programmable itself would be ideal, but if not, I can run it through a light timer. I'd use distilled water to keep it from getting clogged.

Can anyone recommend a brand they've had luck with? I don't want something that conks out in 8 months. I'd prefer something that's not much over $50, and I see a few brands with a decent-looking model in that price range, but I don't know which is the best to go with.

I have used the Exo Terra Monsoon. It has a timer and you can run two nozzles. Some people have had a problem with moisture in the controller. I just removed the lid to put water in the tank and did not pour water thru the top opening. I never had a problem doing it this way.

Exo Terra has several good mister options that fit in your price range. I was going to suggest a Mist King starter kit, but that's not within the range of pricing. And likely overkill for two smaller terrariums. Having said that, mine has worked for several years without a single glitch.

You are going to have a hard time finding better quality than Mist-King.

I went with one of the smaller Exo Terra units. Their other products are good quality, so I'm hoping their misters also are. Plus, this is a small unit, it should fit behind things well, and I like that I can rig two nozzles without having to juryrig something. Now all I have to do is fiddle around with the settings once it gets here, and I should have some happy plants. Or, at the least, not dissatisfied and thirsty.
