Masd. guttulata - Orchid Board

I was given a Masd. guttulata recently. Have tried searching here, but couldn't find info yet. Says on tag it's
a species, native to Ecuador, warm temps.

I would like to put it in a closed environment I'm building, that will have a collection of mosses, wood, and a couple of small orchids, covered by a bell jar. No circulation.

Can it tolerate that environment, i.e., no air circulation?

Orchidwiz says ". Strong air movement should be provided at all times." but it say it to most of them, which is natural since all plants, in their habitats, live outdoors at the mercy of the weather.

Hmmm. I was hoping I could treat it similar to a small fern, moss, or violet. Or get someone who's grown it successfully in a terrarium to give me a green flag.

Wish I could help but I don't know this one. Just a guess is it would need some air movement.

I have my share of terrariums, and 98% of the time that I try growing a Masdie in one, it dies. They need massive ventilation. If I was really gong ho on the idea, then I would stick a computer fan in there. They sell them in small sizes too. The idea being to keep the air moving, and I would keep it closed most of the time to keep it humid.

We grow several Masdevallias in terrariums with no problems whatsoever. Just a bit of air movement and plenty of moisture and they should be fine. Give it a go!

How is yours doing? I've just got one that I'll put under lights, warmer. Has 2 spikes.

I have Masdevallias desendens and erinacae in my terrarium. It has no air movement other than what happens in a exo terra tank. The desendens is even placed in the bottom growing terrestrially.
