Welcome to the OB!

If you drop the humidity a bit then I'd highly recommend my a miniature I've grow in my collection for a couple of decades now, Zygostates alleniana. They are very easy to grow - based on my own success with them - and utterly delightful.

Here's the plant in bloom:

and a close-up of the flower:

Ecuagenera looks like an interesting website, so thanks @leafmite! @jkoffer The blooms look like a upside down phalaeonopsis which is cool, but I also REALLY like its compact little form!

If there is something that you want that isn't on Andy's website, email and ask... what is on the website is only a small fraction of what he has. Also, his plants are usually well established on their mounts, so their survival rate is quite good if you provide the right conditions. Which are documented on the tags, even. I have the benefit of living close enough to visit the nursery (leaving a considerable portion of my bank account each time ,) but I have heard only positives on the mail order side of the business.

It is probably good that I do not live too close to Andy's. I do need money for things other than orchids.

Just an FYI, Bj, that is not a Philodendron. It is an Epipremnum. I know it by the cultivar name "Pincushion".

Andy is awesome. He has given me advice on growing certain species which I didn't even buy from him to begin with.

Mike who runs Glassbox is a good guy. I see him at several of the state orchid shows. He supplies a lot to folks in the pdf hobby. Some plants like the Epipremnum are ones he originally got from me. It is a very easy grower and can take some abuse. He actually gets a lot of his mini's from Ecugenera or from other vendors who have gotten plants from Ecu.

Tillies generally need good air movement and strong light to do well. Stagnant humid air kills a lot of them. Being able to dry off is important. In the setup Bj described, his having them by the lights under such conditions is an important detail.

Thanks Paul it was sold as a Philodendron from Black Jungle, but I see Glass Box list it as Epipremnum sp. 'Pincushion'. Glad to know the proper name. Thyroyalgeek it makes a great center show plant.

I could only find the species curtisii on logees greenhouse and black jungle terrarium supplies (which isn't very reputable). I did find rotindifolia on glassbox tropicals then, which actually looks cooler.

I asked andys to see if he had any zygostates (still waiting for response), but for right now I'm going to try something new and go with glass box. These are my potential candidates:

Vanilla planifolia "variegata",

illandsia ionantha "Mexican select",

Tillandsia bulbosa,

Tillandsia juncifolia,

Masdevallia herradurae,

Macodes petola,

Leptotes bicolor,

Encyclia polybulbon,

Still deciding about vanilla though, as it gets rather large for a terrarium...........

Any objections about the above list? I'm open to criticism.
