I have never had luck with a closed terrarium like that with anything. One of my favorite plants is called maidenhair fern and it needs tons of humidity and poor lighting. It succumbed to mold in a couple of weeks even though I took the top off for awhile each day. I often wonder how people grew anything in their closed Wardian cases.

Griffon Girl....I've struggled a lot with trying to get conditions right with my enclosed terrariums. My personal experience has been to hold off adding orchids until you're sure they'll be happy in the environment you provide. Here are some pics of another one I started (though it does get plenty of natural light. The gobe begonia literally started from two leaf cuttings....the angel wing begonia was unhappy and was relocated to another terrarium. The challenge is part of the reward
