Funny, the only non orchid I have in my tank other than moss, is a tiny Begonia. Is your plant a miniature, which Begonia is it?

Yes Begonia prismatocarpa is a small plant. The leaves are less than 1 inch and the blooms only about one quarter of an inch. It has been very hardy and has to be trimmed now and then to keep it from spreading. The leaves are a light green. I believe that your Begonia vankerckhovenii is very similar. I got mine from Glass Box Tropical.

They are very similar! I really like this little one and it flowers often. It has grow a lot and filled in the area where the poor erinacea had been. I had not originally intended to add plants other than orchids until I found this. Was just too cute.
I found my Begonia at Mountain Orchids, another wonderful vendor. According to Darren at Mountain Orchids the vankerckhovenii is smaller than prismatocarpa, he calls it a lilliputian lol.

The worst part was the package finally made it back to me once I was back in Europe. A box of very very dead plants. I still think about it, 7 years later.

Horrible ending. Very sorry there!

Platystele stenostachya 'yellow' is blooming. This is a very small flower, about 2mm, but very bright yellow.

Platystele stenostachya is one of my favorites, mine is the yellow flower as well. This plant is almost constantly in bloom. Hard to capture a good picture of this tiny one.

Stelis hirtzil is blooming also and has several spikes. I fertilized the terrarium about two week ago for the first time and looks like the orchids and other plants are responding. Fun to have some of the orchids bloom that I have never had bloom. Makes you think that spring will return even with temperatures in the teens.

Ooh nice! I really like the flowers on this one, beautiful color. Having your plants flower for you, especially in this enclosed environment makes me feel like all is right in their world. Happy plants! And yours even get to go on vacation!
