Thank you for sharing the evolution of your orchid growing efforts. It's truly amazing the lengths you have gone to create something beautiful. And here I am in South Florida sometimes considering that it's too hot to go and water my plants.

Fantastic job and all of the orchids are fantastic.

Akhenaten,

you have a beautiful orchidarium, filled with many very happy, healthy plants. I imagine that after a hectic day at the hospitals, this is a very relaxing hobby. I enjoyed very much the many pictures and ideas gained from this thread.
Thanks for sharing your ideas, and experiences.
Melanie

No, I'm not, but I own my own business(hydroponic store) and have two parents with cancer, so I've sent alot of time recently running around to different medical appointments and such. I found it very relaxing to sit for a minute or two and just enjoy my orchids, even if they're not in flower.

I'm lucky, they are both doing well, mum just finished chemo with good results, and step dad is going for another round, slightly more aggressive this time. Both have lived long full lives, and while it hurts to see them suffer, its easier in a sense because they aren't just starting life. I think there is nothing worse then seeing a child suffering with this, they don't get a chance to enjoy life, like my parents have.

Vina,
My fingers are crossed and thoughts are with you during this time, hope things go well with your dad's treatment. If you ever need an ear to vent on PM me, and we can both let off some stream if needed.
