I have been infected by the orchid bug
Default I have been infected by the orchid bug

I have begun the transition of a couple 18x18x24 exoterra from smelly lizards to orchidariums (actually I have access to few exoterras ). I have ordered the starter mist-king with hygrostat/thermometer. Successfully wired a 80mm fan without burning down the house. I visited the local orchid show and picked up 5 new babies.

Phal. manni 'JG' x sib 'Black"
Phal. [(bellina var. coeruea x sib)'Blessing] x (violacea 'Blessing'] x (violacea 'USABlue' x self)
Den. cucumerinum
Lept. bicolor
Tolumnia sp.-no tag

My first of many questions-How many spray tips will I want for tanks of this size? I ordered 4; two L, two T.

You can probably contact MistKing and ask them. I haven't tried a misting system.

It is great to have you here! Hello and welcome!

Thank you for the welcome, Leafmite. I suspect that I will figure it out. I probably have enough to cover both habitats. I have a few more months to play with the system before I return to my home in the frozen wastes of Mn. For now I will set one up as a Wardian case. When I get home, I will work on setting a more permanent display. Still playing with carting the large/extra tall home for that.

:

One of these things is not like the others.
One of these things just doesn't belong.
Guess which of these things is not like the others,
Before I finish my song.

The Tolumnia needs a lot more light and air circulation than the others. Most people also say Tolumnias need to dry completely the same day, after watering. I wouldn't put it in the same terrarium.

I was sort of planning to hang it on the stand, under the lights.....I just couldn't resist it. You know how it is, all those pretty things.......
