Watering the vivarium

Hello everyone!

I almost finished building a vivarium and now I was wondering how to water my orchids inside the vivarium.
Dunking them one by one seems a bit to complicated and time consuming i think and also risky because of spreading infections.

I was thinking about getting a high pressure pump to water but how should I use that pump? Should I water by spraying the whole plant or should I only spray the pots?

Or is there a better way to water orchids inside a vivarium?

Is there anyone who can give me some ideas and explain them?

Spraying is the only way I have ever watered plants in a vivarium. It sounds though, like your plants can be removed from the terrarium at any time since they are in a pot. That might be the better option for you if you have no way of dealing with accumulating water at the bottom of your terrarium. Does your terrarium have a drain or a way to pump the excess water out?

Yes my plants are either potted or mounted and my terrarium does have a drain for excess water.
Since it's my first terrarium and I am a beginner I was wondering how to spray them? Do you spray the pot/roots only or do you spray the whole plant?

I am about to buy a high pressure spayer but maybe there is a better option that why I am asking

I don't have any potted plants in my terrariums so all I use is a misting system or hand spray. You have to learn how much and how often you should spray your plants in your enclosure as conditions in all terrariums/vivariums are different.

A pressure pump sprayer with hose and wand is very effective and convenient, and allows you to control your watering precisely. An excellent choice for watering miniatures in a viv or out in the open.

You will probably want to direct water to the pot or base of the plant to make sure plants are watered thoroughly, or when fertilizing. At other times the plants will love a quick spray. The pressure pump sprayer lets you do both. The hand squeeze type never gives the same control and isn't practical with more than a few plants.

I both spray and use a dramm houseplant watering can in my vivaria. Everything gets watered with the can 1-2 times a week and sprayed 1-2 times daily. Alternatively, in my pleurothallid viv, I use a mistking system in conjunction with a timer to water at set durations & intervals. It ultimately depends on your collection, what rh you are trying for and how often you are able to/want to water.

Thanks for the answers everyone!

I'll get the pressure pump and I'll have to water at the base of the plants mostly if I understood correctly.

I also added a pic of my unfinished vivarium.

Things left to do are:
-ventilation
-drain
-cooling
-(maybe isolation?)
-plant rack
- humidifier

And I was also planning to repot my plants I already have in net pots.
I hope to finish it in a few weeks.
