My tanks always get fungus gnats when I first set them up. But after a few weeks to a month the gnats go away becuase microfauna like Springtails out compete the gnats.

Yes Tindomul1of9. I made a cardboard "L" same size as the tank itself. Foaming, painting and attaching driftwood is done externally, all the time keeping it insertable into the tank. So I am about the paint the foam, spread it with peat moss and them attach the plant and then peel the cardboard out (Soak it in water if it refuses) and the place it inside the tank.

Thats cool. How will you attach the background to the tank? Will you use silicone?
