Default Orchid terrarium (with other plants and geckos!)

Hey!

So, the first of 3-4 tanks I am rescaping for my Geckos is this one. It's a 60x45x60 exoterra, with 2 x 13W Jungle Dawn LED's and a 6% UV lamp (for geckos). It houses 12 Mourning Geckos currently who seem to love it so much I barely see them!

I'm not heating it, so it's maintained at a fairly intermediate temp and so far so good!

Orchid List:

Renanthera monachica
Baptistonia (Gomesa) silvana
Neofinetia falcata Amami Island
Sophronitis coccinea 4N small whorl
Restrepia contorta
Restrepia lansbergii
Haraella retrocalla
Schoenorchis scolopendria
Dendrobium aberrans
Dendrobium agathodaemonis (syn cuthbertsonii)
Trichoglottis pusilla
Masdevallia yungasensis
Psygmorchis pusilla
Phalaenopsis NoID

Other plants

Hoya purpureo-fusca
Kalanchoe uniflora
Columnea microphylla
Pilea Norfolk
Neoregelia fireball
Tillandsia bulbosa
Tillandsia huemelula
Tillandsia usnoides
Tillandsia albertiana
Nepenthes inermis
Ficus pumila (varigated and normal)
Ficus montana (Oak leaved)
Utricularia alpina
Nephrolepsis ferns
Vriesea guttata
Dischidia complex
A few gesnariads too!

There are a couple of other things i got as cuttings in there too which I don't know the names of!

Anyway, here are some pics, and the little geckos!

A DOZEN geckos?? I am so envious. I just have one crestie, and my kids are upset that she is a little skittish about being handled.

Your terrarium looks beautiful - how long have you been growing it? And how did you get the moss and the lichens to grow so well?

How do you feed the geckos? Paste or crickets? I don't see a food or water dish. Is irrigation water sufficient for the geckos?

My dream is to have a gecko terrarium that looks as nice as yours, with several harmoniously co-existing geckos. It'll be a while before it gets there.

Hey!

They are really tiny geckos, getting to 2 inches max as adults (they are about an inch long at the mo!).

I've not been growing it too long actually, I bought that lovely terracotta water pot with the hoya attached from a friend and it was already covered in moss. I have bought quite a few things from him which are mounted with moss so I can't take credit for that! Maybe had it 4-5 weeks??!
I do have a tropical moss spores mix which I will paint onto the back and hope for the best!

I spray 2-3 times a day and have a fan on the mesh for air circulation and that seems enough for them to drink. The food is a crested gecko diet, I use Clarks and Pangea and BlackPanther diets on rotation!

I have 8 cresties too, which I have new vivs sitting waiting for me to make their houses like this! I need to find more robust plants though since they are much heavier and clumsier (as you'll know!).

The lichens on the branches came with the branches. They were from a fallen Sycamore tree in the local park and they look just the part I think! Instant attraction and makes it look more "grown in" than it actually is!

You''ll get there with the handling, a couple of my males are mental, and it's all patience and little handling sessions to get them used to it! looking good as it is though!!

Oh ye gods, what a bunch of cute little buggers! And a really nice tank too!
Used to have a trio of Phelsumas (m. grandis), and I really didn't need to get inspiration for another tank :-D
I'll be following this tank.

Wow, your tank is awesome! I feel like I have been there before.
Is that real lichen?
