Quick update. My Haraella retrocalla got here. not sure i am thrilled with the placement but it is starting a new leaf so it must be happy. AND my telipogonioflora is ever so slowly working on 2 buds and 2 leaves and I am REALLY excited.

Stunning. Can I see a close-up of the moss under the telipogoniflora?

Thanks, everyone! I am really happy with how it is coming together. I replaced the clip light over it with a 2ft T5 tube so i can put more plants on this shelf . So far I have never had to mist anything, I just put water in the bottom every week or so and the lava rock does the rest!

So the blooms are finally open! of course one is squarely facing the rock, just my luck . oh well. i really can't complain.

Also attached is the best pic of the moss I could manage as per Ordphien's request (sorry half of it is blurry)

Looking good!

Just a concern over the light and Lepanthes calodictyon. I could be wrong as I don't grow under lights or in a terrarium so I don't really know how much light you light gives out.

But I have Lepanthes calodictyon growing hanging over the inside edge of a vase with stones and water in the bottom and when I bought it (as a replacement for the first) the guy from Ecuagenera who sold it to me said it didn't like bright light and that I may have had my first too bright.

We were in a white marquee for the show where I bought it, the sun was bright outside, but the light in the marquee was filtered through the very heavy canvas of the marquee. He said that that was about the maximum light it should get.

I keep my new one a little way back from an east window behind a sheer curtain. I have no idea if that is good for it or not as I've only had it 10 months, but just wanted to share that the grower had told me it shouldn't be kept too bright.

Thanks!

And your concerns about light were spot on. It was getting too much light at first. the upward facing leaves promptly turned purple. I have since swapped out the original clip light with a single T5 tube that sits farther away and the new leaf it just finished putting out is a MUCH more healthy color, a very nice lime green and burgundy. I should take a picture. It is the prettiest leaf on the whole plant.
