Default How's my temp and humidity?

I'm worried that my orchids are too hot... what do you all think? Temp is the blue line, humidity is the red... it's about 4 days worth, you can tell during the day where the temps spike.

Hmm... I am not an expert but it looks okay. The temp seems a little high at night and the humidity is a little low, try and raise it to 70%

Unless you are growing cool growers, should be fine.

Maintaining humidity at 50 or above keeps most orchids happy.

Great graphical representation showing how the humidity increases as the air temp cools. What type of data acquisition system are you using?

The bottom chamber is my open section, it is mostly enclosed, but has about a 6" opening since it gets so hot down thre... the top chamber is where the humidity sensor is, so that always stays 70-80% humidity... I need a cooling system or to keep my compact florescents seperate from the plant chamber...

The system is a La Crosse Wireless Data Logger. it has a base station, and then you can add 3 more (for a total of 4) the model # is the WS-8610U. Basically it has a serial port which it records 3000 data points (goes back like ~2 weeks) and records every 5 minutes the temp and humidity... then i can download the CSV excel spreadsheet, and make graphs. Very useful, and not too expensive for what it does.

got my lights seperated out, and enclosed the tank a little bit better, and here is what I have not about 3 days after finishing these tweaks... ALWAYS seperate lights from orchids... Now my temps are 70-73 normally, and humidity is much more stable around 65%

I have the same La Crosse Wireless Data Logger. I have the remote reader out in the orchid room and the base station on the lanai where I can see it from inside the house.

I haven't made use of all the neat stuff it does...but I think I'll be checking into them now
