Default New chids for my Exo Terra

I just got these today from J&L Orchids. These are my first orchids that I have ordered and I was so excited to get them . They all have new growths on them and are very healthy.

Oh I am so jealous! They look very healthy! I can't wait for spring! Come on spring! I have some serious misbehaving to do when the weather warms up!

Talking New Orchids

They look great Tim!
I'm looking forward to seeing them in person soon. (I do have a magnifying glass!)
Is the Den full grown?

Chris

Nice selection!! What great little things to fill your tank with.

Chris, toressae will keep creeping - though I've been told its a slow, slow grower. Here is a pic of mine:

Hello Shakkai, great looking plant there. How long have you been growing that one, is it really a slow grower or does it depend on how you grow it?.

Hi, I've only had mine since this past August. The advice from the Baker's is:

Quote:
Plants are not vigorous and are rather slow to establish. The older portions of the plant tend to die back when disturbed, so they should be divided or remounted only when absolutely necessary.

D. toressae is very slow growing, and many growers consider it difficult to cultivate. Plants are seldom found in patches larger than 4 in. (10 cm).
This is similar to what I was told when I purchased it.

I think a couple of other people here grow this - and have been growing it longer than I have, so maybe they have a better idea of its rate of growth....
