Another Hydrogrolon tube.

So Ive seen a lot of other members on here using Hydrogrolon (TommyMiami, hcastil3 and others) so I decided I wanted to give it a go. Here is the first one, I sew the hydrogrolon around a 4 inch PVC with fishing line( Giant pain!) made a little reservoir at the top and ran a line and pump down the center. Stuck it in the pot and anchored it with lava rocks. The pump is on a timer and the reservoir fills up with water and runs out the green drainy looking thin at the top.

want to find some clear glass or plastic space aged tubes for the future ones, so any advise on that would help!! Also kinda of want to build a really big one!

Think I'm gonna put that bulbo that's next to it on there, It's a Bloomii.

It ISSS a pain doing the fishing line hahaha.. .

I found a glass vase at a thrift store shops for 50 cents.. hans mine is small..



I you want to go big I suggest asking TOM, I didn't bother with a pump but now it is great idea.. mine is just too small to do that so.. oh well..


you can look at home furnishing stores or walmart. or flower shops for tall vases ..
who knows.. I hate sowing with fishing line it sucks...

oh and I'm using a plastic container that i found for 1 dollar in the same store for my bigger one with a tiny little computer case fan built into the enclosure for air circulation

Thanks! I was gonna try Siliconing it on but decided against it, I noticed it was only wicking water halfway up the tube so thats why I put the pump in but it's giving me some trouble, Might put in a bigger or higher quality one.

I'm curious to see what kind of setup you end up with. I also want to try my hand at one of these, and all you are giving me some great ideas! Please keep it up!

hahah, now that you mention it.. I did one with silicone, and one with just sowing with fishing line.. now wewill see what does better..


so far I only have a mini fern mounted on it and some Hemianthus callitrichoides. just a little ... oh and random moss from my grow viv... also .. a little Pleurothallis lets see how that does...
