Few latest pics of the hygrolon cylinder

Hi guys
since I was adding 2 new mini Masdies today, I took just a few updated pics. Everything is growing great, in spike constantly is Scaphosepallum rapax, also Masdevallia herradurae is blooming second time in 2 months, my telipogoniflora is pushing it's first spike, and Lepanthes calodictyon is pretty much blooming also non stop for the past month. Hope you will like it:-)

That looks amazing and gives me ideas on how I can finally mount some plants in my tiny condo. How exactly does the hygrolon work? Does it wick water in addition to absorbing it? What I am wondering: if I made a similar tube, but about half the length, and had the base of the hygrolon tube sitting in water, would the water wick up higher to reach where the plants are mounted? Or would I have to use a water pump and set up a drip at the top of the tube, and let it run down? I am looking at ways to reduce watering times and think such a tube would be an easy way for me to deal with mounted plants.

Joseia, I would go this time exactly with what you are thinking. It is kinda only problem, with keeping the top moist, and the water wick from the top reservoir does not work great, so I have to every day take it out and spray at least once the top part. The hygrolon wicks the water up to some 12-15 inches I would say, so to create 15" tall cylinder would be very sufficient and it can than only sit in the water. Also, you must think about the fact that bottom part is always really dump and so the plants mounted on the bottom are the ones loving dump at all time, the top keeps little drier, so I place the plants that do not like dump conditions at all times!
