The hygrolon wicks the water up to some 12-15 inches I would say, so to create 15" tall cylinder would be very sufficient and it can than only sit in the water. Also, you must think about the fact that bottom part is always really dump and so the plants mounted on the bottom are the ones loving dump at all time, the top keeps little drier, so I place the plants that do not like dump conditions at all times!

Thanks for the tips, I am going to try a small cylinder, about 15 inches high, that will fit perfectly on a shelf under some lights. I bought some moss mix from Folius and am experimenting with growing some moss. I may end adding moss to the cylinder, but that might make things more complicated. Now, time to start thinking about NEW plants.

Joseia, with moss, I got the exactly same dry moss from Folius, and I do suggest to start with that first! It is not complicated at all, and moss will grow really great provided good light! Mix that ry moss with little bit of RO water or rain water, add small amounts and make it paste consistency, than use butter knife and apply to hygrolon. Mine started to grow after some month and after 2 months most close to the light is nicely green! NO FERTILIZER on moss, I do use little pipe to fertilize each orchid directly but never spraying with fertilizer the whole cylinder, moss hates fertilizer!

Thank you Akhenaten, it is fun and looks great inside the house, plus it seems like all mini orchids love it so far!

I'm so jealous.
It's beautiful.
All those cool growers I could never have lol.
I was looking at the moss by folius. Their thread on another forum said they had it back in stock but the website is out.... I dunno

You can make this "slurry" yourself. Moss can be grown by chopping up moss that you already have growing on trees or where ever. the stuff grows like crazy.
I think I'm going to make some this weekend.

Unfortunately moss doesn't grow here lol...
Sometimes I can find a small patch of moss in the mud by a sewer. But only if we've had a rainy winter.
