Thats so nifty! I'm jealous that you got an A. punctata, I've been craving that plant for months but haven't found it for sale anywhere. The mushrooms are incredibly life-like! You should look into making some to sell

I can't wait for the updates. What did you end up doing with the fans? Have one blowing air in, the other pulling air out?

Andy's orchids. They had them for a month. But I think I got the tail end of their stock lol. It's half the size I expected. If I take care if it though. One day.

The fans are even in yet. Probably in the next couple days and play around with them.
I think I might just have one fan blowing out.

They aren't good enough to warrant selling. But they were a fun project to make.
And they glow!

I'm finding alot of conflicting light and water info for aerangis punctata. So if anyone has tips.
Maybe I should look up aerangis care and go from there

That is a wonderful terrarium! I just got an Aergs. punctata from Andy's too. I wonder if we got his last ones. Mine just has two leaves like yours and one was damaged so fingers crossed. It will be a relief to see the third leaf coming out on them.

Heres my two cents . Some people water more often to compensate for higher temps, lower humidity, more air circulation or media that dries quickly. It's harder to explain the different light levels, but even in the US, "shade" is brighter the further south you go. Have you tried the Baker culture sheets? They at least give info on the native habitat. It's a good starting point. That being said, most of my orchids are growing and blooming at humidity levels lower than their native habitat. Good luck!

Thank you! I can't wait to order more orchids for it!
That will have to wait though.

I think maybe we did. Of course these also could just not be blooming size yet. I dunno.
Mine had a few good roots though so I'm not too concerned lol.

Mine is pushing out that leaf! I'll try and snap a pic soon. Im very excited.

Are those the sheets that have detained info on its habitat? Cause I've looked at those.
This thing gets more rain in a month than we have in years here lol.
I have high humidity in there.
No air circulation yet. I'm hoping (in vain I'm sure) that I'll be able to avoid fans.
I put one in and even though it's the smallest I can find, its still too powerful for the tiny lantern.
I'm mainly trying to figure out how dry to let it go in between watering.
Slightly dry, dry, damp...?
Lol.

That's great news about the new leaf.

Here's what Andy's site said about watering punctata:
Moist; 3-5 waterings per week (let dry lightly between waterings). Don't really know what dry lightly means....

As a comparison, here's what it said about Haraella reticulata (odorata):Moist/Daily Watering; 4-7 waterings per week

The leaf on mine that came with damage is now yellow and about to die. I'm down to one leaf and healthy roots. I've got it next to the happy Aergs. mystacidii. I took a picture of punctata when I got it and can probably get a refund...but I really wanted the plant and the others were traveling companions. Maybe it will make it. If not I'll enjoy yours online.

Ps. Sounds like you've already seen the Baker culture sheets.

Here it is. Sorry the picture is so terrible. I have no idea how to take pictures in there yet.

It's the tiny triangle in the center.
Here's a blurry picture but you can kind if see it clearly.

I suspected as much. So far everything is going great.

I really hope yours makes it.
Contact him and see what your options are.

Leaf is getting bigger!
Wish I could see some root growth....
I gave it some kelp. I hope that helps.
So far the hardest part is remembering to use the RO water lol.
I hope im not inviting disaster.

My Schoenorchis leaf is getting bigger as well. But at a slower pace it seems.
