Hygrolon cylinder in tall vase - Final Look! Male
Default Hygrolon cylinder in tall vase - Final Look!

Ok, I decided to start brand new thread. Whoever would be interested to check how it all began, here is the original thread:
http://www.orchidboard.com/community...w-project.html
After today's pick up in orchid show, I did pretty much finish for now the cylinder. I am very happy to say that so far, in over 3 months, everything that was mounted on cylinder grows really well. I do have small issue, water on the top does not wick as much as I would like and does not keep the plants mounted on the top moist at all times, plus the fan dries them little bit more, so I do have to water them every day and fill the inside of the pipe few times a day also. Pretty much every 3-4 days water level rises too the point when I take it out and get rid of the water inside, and start again. Other than that, everything is great. Dry moss was applied in September and it is getting greener and greener, very happy. The list of the plants on the cylinder is:
Bulbophyllum rosary beads - mounted 3 months ago, in spike for last month
Haraella retrocalla - mounted 3 months ago, spiking constantly for last 2 months, at this time 3 spikes!
Pleurothallis leptotifolia - mounted 3 months ago, did pretty much nothing, but I saw 2 new growths today!
Lepanthes telipogoniflora - the first one, nearly dead, was mounted in September, it had only one tiny leaf and few roots, I didn't think it will make it, but by now roots are in hygrolon and it has 3 leaves! Today, I added another one that Ecuagenera brough to me as replacement for that near dead one, so I have 2!
Masdevallia herradurae - this was not meant to be on hygrolon, too big, however it was not happy outside, so I moved it on hygrolon over month ago, since than it grows like a weeds!
Masdevallia erinacea - mounted 4 weeks ago, recently with 5 spikes about to open!
I did add today my last minis for now:
Lepanthes calodictyon - I just love the foliage!!!
Porpax lanaii - this one will be test, I know they should go dry for winter, however the seller said he does not provide any dry season, and waters the whole year round, so will see! I did get this one because my Porpax gigantea did not make the trip from Thailand:-)

THIS IS IT
I hope that everything will go as it is by now and plants will thrive and grow and bloom. Pictures really do not catch how awesome it looks when lighted sitting in living room. The lights I am using are LED with 3 set ups for Aquariums - white, white and blue or blue for night. And I am very satisfied with the fan from eBay, works great!
