Mangrove to new terrarium. Advices? Male
Default Mangrove to new terrarium. Advices?

Hi, tomorrow morning I'll receive the glass part of my new brand terrarium. I choose to make it pretty big in order to create a natural landscape. I'd like to built something like this http://www.caudata.org/forum/attachm...m-img_2982.jpg

I found on ebay 3 plants for a few money (15$ more or less) of red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle). Has anyone tried to grow some Mangrove inside something similar?

I used to have a cichlid aquarium, and had mangrove growing out the top. Didn't know what I was doing, and basically "plunked" them in, tied to a piece of standing Malaysian driftwood, so roots were in water and tops stuck out top of tank.

They appeared to be really hardy and easy to grow... over two feet of growth out top of aquarium, and fascinating root system. Good luck!
