Both my tanks are in the basement too. It is a great place to keep them because it is usually cooler than the rest of the house and allows me to provide the temp difference between day and night.
Usually with lights on during the day temps inside crawl up to 25C and humidity up to 80-85 %. At night I open a little gap in the front doors and top covers so the air flow goes thorugh the tank all nigh and lowers temps to 20C and humidity to 65%.
Since I moved my phals in the first tank about a month ago I got many new spikes on them.

Our Canadian shipping just went up again.

No, They were for pick up only. We had to drive 2.5 hours and back (twice!)
to pick them up. Thankfully we have suv and had no problems fitting them into car.
