If you are looking for information on using an aquarium chiller and radiator/fan to cool a growing case you can check this thread of my case. My case stays at 22 celcius (with water cooled to 13c). I grow lepanthes among other species quite ok. I problably would get it cooler if I had a larger chiller. Some chillers (aquamedic/Hailea brands) can chill as low as 4c - you need to research that before buying. A chilling experiment I dont recommend you use a nano-probe chiller. It wont pull the water temperature down more than 2 or three degrees I think.

Hi all,
Minicatt, those plants look nice! I'm presently setting up a somewhat similar system, but my space is dearly limited, so the mechanics differ. I've got a 2.5 gal. tank (I cant believe my plants used to fit in there!!) which will be used for the evaporating chamber. A scrapped dirt devil impeller fan will generate a pressure head in the chamber, to assist the tank's exhaust fans in drawing air. This is based on my need to modify, rather than construct a new tank (not ORCHIDARI... wait cant say it...)
Also, the plan is to use a high density paper evaporator, owing to the relatively small surface area. All in all, it should cool (and humidify) my two
tanks, and be relatively unobtrusive to boot. Soon, I will have pictures, both of the cooling system, and the new tank. My orchidari... growing tank thread is here.
Thanks to all who have contributed to this topic, as it is an important one.
