before you buy a mist system... look into a simpler idea.
for a very long time i have used a 2L 7-up bottle, with an air pump connected to the bottle with drip irrigation line, and a regular
misting head used for drip irrigation setups and more drip tubing with great success.
the key is to put the airline in above the surface of the water in the bottle, and the line out below the level of the water inside the bottle. the quality of the mist can be controlled by adding more airpumps, or using a smaller aperture
misting head.
the pump blows air into the container, the pressure is relieved by blowing water out the other side through the mist head.
cost less than 20$ to make.. has worked 1000's of hours without fail. the mist is not as fine as the mist from a
mistking system, but is a fraction of the price, much quieter, and works similarly.
i now use the
mistking on my show tank, and for my less pretty tanks, the DIY version...
